Summer Classes 

Start the summer off right with ceramics classes for your favorite little artist.  These 4 week classes vary in difficulty based on experience, so there is a class for everyone.  Sign your child up now to guarantee a spot today.  Classes are organized through the Mount Horeb Rec. Department.**



Play In Clay: Beginner
Age: 7-12    Time: 9-10am   Fee: $80   Min: 4      Max: 10

Introduce your children to the wonderful world of clay.  In this class they will be encouraged to express their creative side through different handbuilding methods like pinching, coiling, and slab building.  We will have a variety of project ideas to spark any imagination as well as a knowledgeable instructor to help guide your child through the technical aspects of building, firing, and glazing their one of a kind pieces of art.

Play In Clay: Intermediate
Age: 7-12  Time: 4-5 pm  Dates: Wednesdays September 6-27th Min: 4  Max: 10 Fee: $80    

This class is designed for students who have taken the first “Play in Clay” class or those who have more experience working with clay.  We will explore more complex building techniques and forms, learn new surface techniques, and have more freedom in design.   Everyone in the class will be encouraged to explore their creative side by making art that is truly their own.  

Beginning Wheel Throwing 

​Age: 7-12   Fee: $120   Students: 3

​Indulge your inner artist and develop a new skill with the potters wheel. This six week long class teaches you the basics of pottery using a combination of visual aids, practical demonstration and hands-on experience. This is the perfect class to introduce yourself to the potters wheel or to revisit a past passion for clay.
